Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect fit:

While we have made gasket selection easier there are still a few thing to know about getting the gasket to fit correctly. One of those the simple gasket shim. On new or newish machines, the updated silicone gasket will fit perfectly with no issues. However, if you have an older machine (10 years or older), you may realize that even with a fresh gasket the portafilter still goes past the 4 o'clock position, if this is the case then add 1 grouphead shim and see if it helps. If after installing 1 shim it still feels too loose you can add a second shim. If the handle still feels too loose even with two shims then it is time to buy a new portafilter as the locking tabs are most likely worn out.

We have also made a detailed video that provides step by step instructions on how to change the group gasket on your espresso machine.
